Whether you are living with a breast cancer diagnosis—or the fear of one—or you have empathy for a friend or loved one who has been diagnosed, you’ll find inspiration and hope in Leslie Lawrence’s I’m a lucky woman: A Photographic Memoir of a Breast Cancer Survivor.

This debut memoir reveals a compelling portrait of one woman’s triumphant cancer journey. Leslie was undaunted by her breast cancer diagnosis and determined to face her illness head-on.

She had the wits and drive to chronicle her emotional and physical experiences over her five-year cancer journey. Her deftly crafted essays, amplified with candid photographs, meaningful haikus, and unexpected humor, provide an inside look at life after a breast cancer diagnosis. Her story is both eye-opening and heartwarming.

Her journey from breast cancer patient to survivor is a beautiful reminder that a diagnosis is not a death sentence.

Her book is an offering of hope.

EXPRESSIVE WRITING WORKSHOP

Whether you’re a survivor, caregiver, or someone simply looking for a way to explore the emotions and challenges of cancer, expressing yourself through writing can be a great outlet. Journaling can be a powerful tool to help you reflect on your thoughts and feelings, gain new perspectives and find moments of peace and clarity amidst the chaos of a cancer diagnosis.

As part of the evening, we welcome you to take part in an expressive writing workshop designed to support individuals as they navigate the emotional journey of a cancer diagnosis. This guided session offers a safe and empowering space to explore writing as a powerful tool for self-expression, reflection, and healing. Led by Camille St. Onge, LICSW, the workshop will introduce techniques to help guests process emotions, reduce stress, and find clarity through the written word. Whether you're new to journaling or a seasoned writer, you'll gain practical strategies to make writing a meaningful part of your coping toolkit.

No writing experience required—just an open heart and a willingness to explore.
